ZV Submits SLIP-0044 Application to Standardize Wallet Generation for the ZERA Network
In a milestone for the ZERA ecosystem, ZV has officially submitted a SLIP-0044 application to standardize wallet generation for the ZERA Network. This move is a critical step in ensuring consistent key derivation across future applications built on ZERA.
What is SLIP-0044?
SLIP-0044 is a registry maintained by SatoshiLabs that assigns unique coin type indices for hierarchical deterministic wallets (as defined by BIP44). These indices are critical for generating private keys and wallet addresses in a way that avoids overlap between different blockchains and assets. By securing a SLIP-0044 entry, ZERA Network joins the ranks of officially recognized chains with standardized wallet support.
Why It Matters
With the SLIP-0044 application now officially submitted, the ZERA Network is taking a foundational step toward platform-wide compatibility. This standardization ensures:
Secure Key Derivation: Wallets using ZERA can follow a consistent derivation path, eliminating conflicts and potential vulnerabilities across applications.
Developer Alignment: All developers building on the ZERA Network can rely on a unified approach for wallet generation.
Ecosystem Interoperability: Whatever application is being built on top of the ZERA Network, this standard can serve as the backbone for a cohesive user experience.
Introducing Vision Wallet
This development comes at a pivotal time as we prepare for the development of Vision Wallet — our next-generation wallet application set to replace ZPay. Vision Wallet is designed with multi-chain support from the ground up and will eventually offer an intuitive interface for bridging and swapping tokens directly within the app in a permissionless manner.
By building Vision Wallet on the SLIP-0044 standard, we are setting a uniform and reliable foundation for future features and integrations across the entire ZERA ecosystem.
What’s Next
As the ZERA Ecossytem expands, the adoption of this standard becomes even more important. All future ecosystem integrations — from DeFi protocols to governance platforms — should to adopt this SLIP-0044-based key derivation path to ensure seamless compatibility and user safety.
Stay tuned as we move closer to launching Vision Wallet and continue building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of decentralized experiences on ZERA.
